Bow River Report – October 14, 2006
Fishing Conditions
Fishing continues to be very good on the Bow when weather conditions make it
comfortable. There have been very small numbers of Baetis on cloudy days but the fish have been very eager to rise and don’t seem to need many bugs. Hopper/Dropper continues to be the most consistent technique and we are seeing more hopper eats than earlier in the year (likely due to October Caddis).
Stremaer fishing has been inconsistent with cloudy days being best. A Water Boatman behind a small streamer is very effective right now.
A lot of comments have been around reports of late about the fish being in deeper (winter) lies but in fact there are huge numbers of fish stacked up in the riffles right now and they are eating like crazy.
Hatches
Baetis, Pseudocloen, Water Boatmen, October Caddis.
Fly Selection
Streamers: Slump Buster, Chamois Leech, C/H Kiwi Muddler, Conehead Rubberleg Bow River Bugger (Black).

Crowsnest River Report – October 14, 2006
Fishing Conditions
Small bead head nymphs will likely give the best success at the Crow right now but there have still been some Baetis on the water, especially on the cloudy days. If the weather is comfortable we would recommend getting down there before winter sets in.
