Bow River Report - July 4th, 2007
Fishing Conditions
Those of you who have been waiting for lower, clearer water have gotten your wish. Conditions are almost perfect for early season streamer and dry fly fishing.
Levels have dropped by a huge amount this week and clarity is very good. The only adverse conditions this week were levels dropping too quickly.
Streamer fishing has been very good with big, dark flies on sink tips being the order of the day. Stonefly nymphs and Worm Patterns should be illegal they are so effective right now and there are PMD's (heavier on cloudy days). A few Golden Stones are showing up here and there as well.
No excuses left, get out and go fishing.
Hatches
Caddis, PMDs.
Fly Selection
Streamers: Conehead Rubberleg Bow River Bugger (Black), Geek Leech, Silveys Sculpin Leech, Medusa-Black/Purple, Fox's Sleech.

Crowsnest River Report - July 4th, 2007
Fishing Conditions
The Crowsnest has dropped a lot in the last week and fishing has improved along with it. Stonefly dries have been producing fairly well, especially above the falls. The Golden Stones are just getting going but the fish seem to be still imprinted with Salmonflies (Who cares, as long as they eat them).
PMDs and Caddis are around in good numbers, particularly cloudy days. We saw a few Flavs (Western Green Drakes) last week so they should get going as well.
If you want to double your coverage a Stonefly dry with a tungsten bead dropper is very effective right now.
Hatches
Salmonflies (finishing), Golden Stones, PMDs, Caddis, Flavilinea.
