Bow River Report - August 25th, 2007
Fishing Conditions
Fishing conditions on the Bow are very good right now. The list of things happening is long:
Tricos in the morning- We have not seen Trico fishing like this in twenty years, maybe ever. Keep in mind that cooler days will lead to the spinner fall being later and maybe lighter. A lot of fish rising to the Tricos will eat a caddis imitation but we are seeing a fair number of fish that require size 20 Trico imitations with 5X tippet.
Caddis hatches have been quite good through the afternoons with good numbers of fish eating them. Cloudy days will equal more rising fish.
Pseudos and Baetis- The Pseudos are around in good numbers and on the rainy days we have seen Baetis already. The fish are eating them so a few Ble Winged Olive patterns in size 18 and 16 are a good idea.
Hoppers have been producing a reasonable number of eats every day. On the brighter days it will be a little slower but acceptable. On the cloudy days there has been some excellent hopper fishing.
Streamers still continue to fish well. Dark, smaller, and weighted on the bright days. Light colored, larger, less weighted on the cloudy days.

Caddis, Tricos, Hoppers, Pseudocloen.
