Mike Gifford
Mike was born and raised in Southern Alberta and has fished the area since he was a kid. After working for CP as a “shop rat” in the mid-1980’s, he guided on the Bow for the shop.
Mike spends pretty much all of his free time from May until November on the Bow and then several weeks every winter chasing flats species like Permit and Tarpon in the salt, big Brown Trout in South America, to Taimen in Mongolia.
Mike resides in High River with his wife, Maureen, also a fly fisher. If you have not had the opportunity to meet Mike, drop by the shop and do so.
Caitlin Gifford
Caitlin grew up fly fishing and started working in Country Pleasures at the age of 14. Her experience extends from Trout fishing all over Southern Alberta and British Columbia to stalking Tarpon, Bonefish, and Permit in the Carribean. She has also developed an unhealthy interest in Steelhead. Currently in her final year of University, Caitlin works full time in the shop during the summer and part time during the winter while working on her degree in Environmental Science. With her experience we are sure that you will find Caitlin informative and helpful. And her friendly manner and sense of humor will keep you smiling.
Kevin Peterson
Kevin has been fishing the Bow for about 25 years now. Those of who are older remember the young guys bummin' flies and pestering fish on the Royal Bank in the late 80's. Kevin was one of those kids. He worked in the shop while attending High School in the early 90's and has guided for the last 15 years on the Bow.
He has fished extensively in both fresh and salt water, spending a bunch of time in the Florida Keys and Belize. He enjoys lots of different fishing including Pike, Steelhead, and backcountry fishing. He spends a lot of time in the outdoors hunting, birding, and fishing.
We are excited to have Kevin on staff. You'll find him to be astonishingly friendly and knowledgeable.
Terry Antoniuk
Every once in a while Terry takes a break from his “real job” to help us out in the shop. Terry has as much experience fly fishing, both in fresh and salt water, as anyone we know in the area.
His knowledge base on thing biological, as well as fishing, continues to impress us and will certainly help you.
Jason Eggleton
Jay has guided for the shop for a number of years now, started helping out in the shop during the winter of 2012, and ramped up his presence during the winter of 2013. Jay is one of our favorite people. Completely unflappable, very personable, and completely humble. He is one of a small group of true professionals on the river and he brings that same level of knowledge and professionalism to the shop.
Josh Markle
Josh spends most of his year molding the minds of our youth as a school teacher. However, in July and August he bring his cheerful attitude into the shop. Customers love this guy! He’s maybe the nicest guy we know, and he knows his stuff.
