Gypsy Lake Lodge Fly Fishing Vacation
Gypsy Lake Lodge is located twenty-five minutes by air from Ft. McMurray in Northeastern Alberta. The lodge is the only facility on the 24 square mile lake and the facility comprises a main lodge, three spacious duplex cabins and a shower house. The lodge will accommodate twelve anglers, and our group will have exclusive use of the premises during our trip.
There are no guides at the lake, but be assured that the fishing there is good enough that guides are not required.
Gypsy Lake Fishing
The fishing here is for northern pike. We have been to Gypsy before and pike in excess of 40", 
while not common, are a legitimate daily expectation. In fact, in June of 2000 six anglers in the party landed 26 fish over 40". It is legitimate to expect to catch lots of fish each day. The lake record is a pike of 28# caught in 1994. The lake is fished as a catch and release fishery for the large pike, it being required that all pike in excess of 6 pounds be released unharmed.
Gypsy Lake is large enough to offer a lot of diversity of habitat, but small enough that anglers can learn their way around the lake in short order.
Gypsy Lake Lodge Packages and Details
This package includes airfare from Ft. McMurray to Gypsy Lake return; all fishing; all accommodation at the lodge; three meals per day prepared by the lodge staff; use of boats, motors and fuel while at the lodge (double occupancy in the boats). We are proposing to book all members of the party on West Jet for transportation from Calgary to Ft. McMurray and estimate that airfare at $350, including applicable taxes.
This package does not include transportation from home to Ft. McMurray, tackle, licenses, beverages and gratuities paid to the lodge staff.

Rates
The price for the excursion to Gypsy Lake is estimated at $1200, plus airfare Calgary/Ft. McMurray return (estimated at $350), but the price is subject to change when final arrangements are made.
Reservation Policy
A deposit of $600 per person is required to hold reservations. The balance of the excursion price will be due forty-five days prior to arrival at the lodge. Registration for the trip is taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited, so sign up now if you want to experience this fabulous pike fishing.
